RAC Black Box Insurance

Here’s what you can do through your online account, which is available 24/7:

  • Change the vehicle you’re insuring (please note: the new car will need a black box fitted)
  • Change whether your insurance is for business or personal use
  • Change your personal details, such as your name, date of birth, occupation or contact details
  • Change which drivers are on your policy
  • Accept your renewal
  • Upload and download documents, including proof of no claims discount (NCD)
  • Settle your outstanding balance
  • Update your auto-renewal and document preferences

The charge for making a change to your policy online is £15.00.

To make a change to your insurance cover, log in to your online account and select ‘make a change’. From here you can select the date you’d like to make the change from, and then the type of change. Changes to your policy can be processed and paid for online in a few minutes.

The quickest and easiest way to make a change to your policy is via your online account. A £15.00 admin fee will apply for changes made online. A £35.00 admin fee will apply for changes made via the call centre.

You can change your vehicle registration number online. Log in to your online account, select ‘make a change’ on the policy overview page, then select ‘your car’. On the quote page, select ‘update car details’ to change the registration plate on your existing vehicle. To change the vehicle you’re insuring, select the ‘change current car’ option.

You can change the address on your policy by logging in to your online account. Once logged in, select ‘make a change’ on the policy overview page. You can change address by selecting ‘your details’.

Please note, if your policy is due for renewal you won't be able to change it online so please call to speak to one of our team.

Anyone who drives your vehicle should be named on the policy. You can add a driver to your policy using your online account. Once logged in, select ‘make a change’ on the policy overview page, then select ‘additional drivers’.

Remember, the black box tracks driving behaviour for everyone driving the car, not just you.

RAC Home Insurance

A £25.00 admin fee will apply for changes made online. A £35.00 admin fee will apply for changes made via the call centre.
