Amend your van insurance policy
It's quick and easy to make changes to your van insurance policy via your online account, 24/7. This includes amending your renewal and marketing preferences, making a payment or change of vehicle and/or amending your personal details. You can also make changes via live chat at rac.co.uk/chat.
Alternatively, to amend your van insurance policy you can call 0333 070 2661. The fee to make an amendment over the phone is £35. If you make the change online yourself, its £15. If you’re overseas, please call +44 1454 423 667.
Renew your van insurance policy
You can view your renewal documents in your online account. Or contact us via live chat at rac.co.uk/chat to discuss.
- If you're set up for automatic renewal and you're happy with the cover outlined, we'll automatically renew your policy.
- If your policy is not set up to auto renew, it will expire on the date shown on your renewal invite, unless you tell us otherwise. To view and pay for your renewal online, please login to your online account.

Cancel your van insurance policy
You can cancel your policy at any time by contacting our Customer Services Team via live chat at rac.co.uk/chat or on 0333 070 2661. Our opening hours are Monday to Friday 9am-6pm; Saturday 9am-4pm.
Our charges for cancellation are below:
If you cancel your policy within the 14-day cooling off period:
- And cover has not started, we'll refund you in full.
- And cover has started, we'll refund your premium and policy arrangement fee, minus an amount to reflect the time you've already been covered. A £35 cancellation charge will also apply.
If you cancel your policy after the 14-day cooling off period:
- We'll refund your premium, and policy arrangement fee, minus an amount to reflect the time you've already been covered. A £55 cancellation charge will also apply.
Please note: if you cancel your policy following a claim, or any incident that results in a claim, you won't be entitled to receive any refund, and we won't refund our policy arrangement fee.
Make a van insurance claim
You can call us to make a claim on your van insurance policy 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To make a van insurance claim, please call 0344 571 3038. If you’re calling from overseas, please call +44 1253 441 238.
For glass claims, please refer to your policy document for the relevant number.

Proof of no claims discount
If your policy is due for renewal, the renewal schedule or letter should count as evidence of your no claim discount (NCD) for your next insurer. You can view this in your online account. If you still need help, please contact us via live chat at rac.co.uk/chat.
