If you choose the RAC Comprehensive Insurance Plus package not only will you be covered if you are hit by an uninsured driver, but you will also have any excess that you may have paid refunded and your no-claims discount will not be affected.
If you have a car accident you should let us know as soon as possible. If you have comprehensive cover, we will pay for damage to your vehicle and any third-party property as well as contributing towards medical treatment for injuries incurred by yourself or third parties.
If your cover is not comprehensive, we will only pay for third party damage and/or medical treatment.
An excess will only apply if your windscreen cannot be repaired and needs to be replaced. If it is repaired by either our approved windscreen repair company or one of your choosing, no excess will apply. Your no claims discount will be unaffected in either case.
No. You should take all reasonable steps to ensure that your car is locked and secure to prevent theft. Failure to do so could invalidate any claim you have.

There are some instances when a courtesy car would not be provided, such as if your car is written off or stolen. We offer Guaranteed Replacement Car cover at an additional cost. This optional add-on cover would provide a car for 14 or 28 days in such circumstances.
It depends on the kind of claim, whether you’re to blame and other factors. But generally speaking your insurance could go up about 20-50% after you claim.
