- Register up to 3 eligible vehicles.
- Your vehicle is covered no matter who’s driving.
- Cover up to 5 named drivers, living at the same address.
- You’ll be covered as the driver or passenger in any eligible vehicle as long as you’re in the vehicle at the time of breakdown.
Yes, all vehicles listed on a vehicle-based policy must be registered at the same address. All people listed on a joint or family policy must also live at the same address.

Covers you as a driver or passenger in any eligible vehicle.
Covers you and one other named person in your household as a driver or passenger in any eligible vehicle.
Covers you and up to 4 other name people in your household as a driver or passenger in any eligible vehicle.
If you've broken down already and you're not a member of the RAC, we can still help you. Simply call 0330 159 1111 to speak to an advisor. You'll become an RAC member and we'll send help to support you. Included in the fee you pay, is an emergency call out charge which covers you for assistance at the roadside or at home on the day you call along with a monthly membership. If you call out outside of office hours, you’ll pay for a pay as you go membership.
Our opening hours are: Mon-Fri 8am to 7pm, Sat 9am to 5pm, bank holidays 9am to 5pm.
To offer the best value for money, RAC Memberships are available on a annual basis, with the option to pay monthly. We don’t offer short-term cover for one-off journeys.
That depends on your level of cover.
Basic
With Roadside Assistance, if we can’t fix your car on the spot we’ll tow you up to 10-miles to an address you choose or a local garage. Any mileage over this will be an extra charge.
Extra and Complete
Both cover levels include National Recovery so we’ll tow you anywhere you choose in the UK.
If you haven’t broken down already, your breakdown cover will start as soon as your payment has been accepted.
Initial 24 hours
- Covered for Roadside Assistance and 10-mile tow
- Complete cover will also have At Home cover
After 24 hours
- Full cover starts (except some breakdown extras if you have them).
After 7 days
- Onward Travel, Key Replace, Battery Replace and Tyre Replace cover will start.
